After 26 years under the care of our founder Donna Evers, Twin Oaks has entered a new chapter with the Spear family. As a second-generation, women-owned and operated winery, we are proud to introduce our vision for Twin Oaks. Guided by our new owner, Michelle, Twin Oaks is committed to fostering community, integrity, and a connection to the land.
We are reopening in May, 2025 with a fresh perspective, exciting renovations, and the same commitment to creating wines that are as thoughtful as they are enjoyable. Whether you are visiting us for a weekend picnic, a summer show, or a quiet glass overlooking the vineyard, we hope you feel at home.

Our History
Our History
Nestled in Bear’s Den Historic District, Twin Oaks Tavern Winery offers a peaceful retreat in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Originally built as a mountain inn for Washingtonians to escape the summer heat, our stone home, tavern, and vineyard have been restored and maintained with a deep respect for its history.
Our wines capture the essence of Twin Oaks: elevated and full of character. As a woman-owned vineyard that’s been bottling since 2008, we have been forging our own path rather than following tradition. Each bottle is a testament to artistry and care behind everything we do.
When you visit Twin Oaks you are also becoming part of a story that spans generations against the beautiful backdrop of one of Virginia’s most scenic landscapes.

Our white wines are light-filled and radiant. The award-winning Chardonnay offers crisp citrus and a touch of elegant oak, while the Vidal Blanc brings a tropical brightness. Rounding out the lineup is Golden Hour, our signature blend that captures a sun-kissed, perfectly balanced finish.
For red wine lovers, our collection offers a spectrum of bold character and refined depth.

Our Process
Our Process
At Twin Oaks Winery, quality begins in the vineyard. As a boutique winery, we take pride in managing each step of the winemaking process with care and intention.
Our vines are grown on-site, with close attention paid to the growing cycle and the health of the land. During harvest, we hand-pick grapes at peak ripeness to ensure the best possible fruit for our wines.

For the 2025–2026 season, we are partnering with a trusted community winemaker to process our grapes off-site. This arrangement allows us to focus on growing our business and building out our future winemaking space here on the property.

At Twin Oaks, sustainability is rooted in every vine. Thanks to the natural topography of our hillside vineyard, our vines are nourished by rain alone - no irrigation required! Rainwater seeps deep into the soil and flows gently down our hillside, delivering essential moisture where it's needed most. This rain-fed approach not only enhances the character of our grapes, but it significantly reduces our water usage and waste. It’s nature doing what it does best!

Bees play a crucial role in agricultural and ecosystem health, pollinating many crops that are essential for our food supply. We are excited to announce our partnership with The Best Bees Company. Through our partnership, our bees will provide valuable insight into local biodiversity and pollinator health, along with bolstering our pollinator population. By caring for pollinators, we can maintain a balanced vineyard ecosystem and continue to grow responsibly.
